Finding the Hotel

The peninsula is located on one of the extremities of the Camamu Bay, the third in size found in Brasil. Salvador is the nearest International Airport. Illeus is the nearest Domestic Airport. Although, the peninsula has four small air landing strips.

Travelling from Salvador

Aeroplane - 25 minutes

Approximately £70 per head depending on availability and season.

Bus - Approximately 5 hours

Salvadore - Bom Despacho using the Ferry Boat (see timetable ...)



Bom Despacho - Camamu using the bus - Sol Cidade is the most direct (BA 0011) and quickest company.



Camamu - Barra Grande using the boat!!! A slow boat leaves the pier hourly (6am to 5pm) in Camamu and arrives approximately an hour later at the pier in Barra Grande.



Camamu Adventure provides speed boats across the bay - approximately 20 minutes. The boat journey gives visitors the chance to see small fisherman villages and the biggest mangrove reserve in the area.




Car - Approximately 90km by road from Ubaitaba

Only advisable in 4x4 car.

Route: Ubaitaba X Ibiacu X Marau X Saquaira X Taipus de Fora X Barra Grande (BR030).

It is advisable to pre-book transport to Barra Grande in advance especially over Christmas and New Year and the carnival. Please feel free to give me a call and I will do it for you.
